Art Basel Hong Kong

Galerie Lelong is pleased to participate in Art Basel Hong Kong with a presentation of works by Etel Adnan, McArthur Binion, Petah Coyne, Günther Förg, Konrad Klapheck, Lin Tianmiao and Wang Gongxin, Nalini Malani, Joan Miró, Yoko Ono, Jaume Plensa, Sean Scully, Nancy Spero, Antoni Tàpies, Barthélémy Toguo, and Wang Yan Cheng.

Highlights include the photographic suite Here? or There? (2002), the first ever collaboration between Lin Tianmiao and Wang Gongxin. Produced especially for the Shanghai Biennial in 2002, Urban Creation—inspired by the Qing Dynasty novel, Liaozhai Zhiyi—integrates Lin’s labor-intensive sculptural techniques and Wang’s video practice to comprise a nuanced narrative about Chinese society at the turn of the millennium. Here? or There? captures the sense of dislocation – past and present, real and unreal.

Jaume Plensa and Joan Miró will have two major pieces central to the booth, Oiseau solaire (1966) and Endless VII (2015). Abstract artists McArthur Binion, Gunter Forg, Sean Scully, Antoni Tapies, and Wang Yan Cheng will present works that expand upon visual movements such as minimalism and postmodernism, while works by Nalini Malani, Nancy Spero, and Barthélémy Toguo will reexamine history, sociopolitical issues, and aesthetics through a feminist or decolonized lens. A group of rarely seen historical Corner Paintings that reimagine the boundaries of art and viewing by Yoko Ono will also be on view.

In the Kabinett sector, Galerie Lelong will present works on paper by the Lebanese artist Etel Adnan.
